چکیده
Method The pre and one-year postoperative data;-{Functional Class (FC), cardiothoracic ratio (CTR) in chest x-ray, and echocardiographically Left atrium (LA), Right atrium (RA), Right ventricle (RV), left ventricle (LV), & Pulmonary Artery (PA) dimensions, PAP, tricuspid regurgitation (TR)}, of 50 patients who had Mitral valve replacement (MVR) for MS with PAH, were retrospectively analysed for correlations with PAP (Pearson’s), and the change in each (t-test), in relation to that in PAP. PAH groupbased (Group-I PAP ≥60 mmHg, Group-II >60 mmHg) analysis was done and the differences highlighted.

High-risk Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and Mitral Valve Replacement in a HIV Positive Patient
Certain subsets of high-risk mitral valve patients are not suitable candidates for transcatheter therapies. The objective of this report is to present a young patient with combined mitral valve and coronary artery disease to illustrate these challenges. In this report, we present a 47-year-old man with longstanding HIV infection who was referred with severe mitral regurgitation (MR) and profound...
متن کاملInduced hypocapnia is effective in treating pulmonary hypertension following mitral valve replacement.
BACKGROUND Mitral valve stenosis is often associated with increased pulmonary vascular resistance resulting in pulmonary hypertension, which may lead to or exacerbate right heart dysfunction. Hypocapnia is a known pulmonary vasodilator. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether induced hypocapnia is an effective treatment for pulmonary hypertension following elective mitral valve replac...
متن کاملبررسی عوامل موثر در افزایش سطح دریچه و پیدایش نارسایی میترال بعد از بالون میترال والولوپلاستی در 110 بیمار در مجتمع بیمارستانی امام خمینی
Background: Percutaneous Transeptal Mitral Commisurotomy (PTMC) has been used in treating mitral stenosis with variable success, its main complication being mitral incompetence. There is a need to define the subgroup of the patients who benefit mostly from the procedure. Methods: We studied 110 patients (age 17 to 60 years mean 33.2) with mitral stenosis. PTMC was performed though femoral vein....
متن کاملTreatment with epoprostenol of pulmonary arterial hypertension following mitral valve replacement for mitral stenosis.
Pulmonary hypertension frequently complicates mitral stenosis. Increased pulmonary artery pressure results from raised left atrial pressure, pulmonary arteriolar constriction, and obliterative changes in the pulmonary vascular bed, and usually responds to surgical relief of mitral stenosis. However, severe pulmonary hypertension may persist after surgical treatment of mitral stenosis. We descri...
متن کاملThe Influence of Aortic Valve Replacement on Functional Moderate - To-Severe Mitral Regurgitation in Patients with Aortic Valve Stenosis
GOAL The aim of this study was to show whether the concomitant functional mitral regurgitation in patients undergoing aortic valve replacement improves after this surgical procedure and to identify preoperative echocardiographic parameters that may influence the lack of improvement in mitral regurgitation (MR) after aortic valve replacement (AVR). MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included 45 pa...
